Preparation and packaging

From cold storage, the fruit is submerged in a large basin of water to get them out of their wood crates without bruising (because apples float).

Then, after the pool of water, the apples are gently brushed and washed so that they are impeccable. Then a thin film of food grade wax is applied (to improve their conservation and make them shiny). A section of equipment after this dries the fruit.

Now begins the classification, all apples are viewed by cameras and are individually weighed by an electronic system. If the color of the apple is good enough, as well as the size then a label will be affixed to the fruit. After this stage, the fruit is assigned to a final destination to be wrapped by hand, and all this at a rate of 800 minutes apples!
